With the departure from college, these student connections were also ended and Webster, who gave himself the stage name Travis Scott, went to Los Angeles to make a breakthrough as a solo musician.

Again the release was delayed, first appearing singles with Big Sean, Rich Homie Quan and others and followed by a US tour with Young Thug and Metro Boomin’ in spring 2015. In June, the advance single 3500 was released with Future and 2 Chainz as guest musicians. This saw Scott enter the US singles chart for the first time. Then on September 4, the album was released and entered the U.S. rap charts at #1 and the official album charts at #3. Rodeo was also released internationally and entered the album charts in numerous countries. At the same time, the single Antidote was released, which made it to the top 20 on the US charts and went platinum.
A series of further collaborations followed, for example with Justin Bieber, Kanye West and Wiz Khalifa, which also made it into the charts. In early September 2016, a year after the release of the debut album, the second album Birds in the Trap Sing McKnight was released.
